Applicators & Seeders

We have pulled together a list of Stocks Ag applicators and seeders that we believe are eligible through the FETF grant scheme in England and the Small Grants - Efficiency Scheme in Wales. 

“We can still move over the ground when larger equipment would be stood in the shed,” he explained. “This helps with the timeliness when we’re applying slug pellets”, explains farmer and contractor Tim Clappison. 

We believe that the Turbo Jet 8 and 10 (400L hoppers) and Maxi Jet 2 and 4 (400L hoppers) are eligible for grant funding as an air drill for establishing cover crops, through the 2024 Farming Equipment and Technology Fund (FETF). 

'The four-outlet unit offers precise metering with air-assisted distribution. The four streams of material can then be split and spread by eight distribution plates to achieve a 4m working width'. 

'With key-pad menu navigation, the Jackal is an easy to operate, robust, compact unit that provides users with a whole raft of functionality. Critically its ability to process either a radar or gearbox speed signal from the tractor’s seven-pin ISO socket means it is able to deliver forward speed-related rate control'. 

'One of the key features of the new model is a move to the use of external distribution heads sited along the toolbar. This means the lengths of small-bore pipework are kept to a minimum with the result that airflow and material flow is constricted as little as possible'.

"Where pellets are being consumed very quickly, repeat applications may be necessary in order to maintain sufficient baiting points throughout the crop’s most vulnerable stage", says Dick Neale, Hutchinsons Technical Manager. 

Having three hoppers "comes in handy for cover crops, where buckwheat will be placed in the large section of the main hopper, phacelia in the other and a blend of crimson clover and linseed in the Stocks" Rotor Meter, says farmer Henry Muntz.
